Eyeshadow was never an essential in my makeup bag. It wasn't until I was 20 that I started wearing it frequently (and this was only for nights out).
However, in the last few months, I've started to ditch my classic eye flick and instead opted for a bronzed eyeshade to complete my everyday look. The palette I've been reaching for on a daily basis is the Stila In The Light Palette.
I'm a very much a neutral girl.
Nevermind bright colours, any colour kind of colour scares the shit out of me. I wear browns and bronze colours and sometimes I really push the boat out and go for a sparkly burnt orange colour. I am adventurous.
Saying all that, the Stila In The Light Palette is the perfect palette for me.
The In The Light Palette hosts 10 colours, ranging from a shimmering cream shade to a jet black. There's a range and I can honestly say that I'm a bit obsessed with all of them (even the dark blue). The colours in this palette are as follows:
- Bare – Matte ivory shadow.
- Kitten – Shimmering nude pink shadow.
- Bliss – Matte nude shadow.
- Sunset – Copper shimmer shadow.
- Sandstone – Matte neutral brown shadow.
- Champagne – Pale gold shimmer shadow.
- Gilded Gold – Bronze with gold shimmer shadow.
- Luster – Dark shimmering brown shadow.
- Night Sky – Deep shimmering blue-grey shadow.
- Ebony – Matte black shadow. (source)
All the colours are extremely wearable. When I say that, I mean they would suit any occasion and any time of day, just because the colours and this palette is so versatile.
Individually, the colours are all absolutely beautiful, with my personal favourites being Kitten and Sunset. It's a perfect neutral palette. There's a range and it's easy to take your eyeshadow from an everyday work look to an intense dinner date look. It's versatile and I'm kind of obsessed with it.
I'm trying to move away from the beautiful colours right now and on to the eyeshadow itself.
To start with, the texture. The texture of the eyeshadows are buttery soft and the shades simply glide onto the eyelids. I can tell that they're just such good quality and this makes the eyeshadows really easy to blend and help create an effortlessly, blended eyeshadow look.
In terms of longevity, it's what you'd expect from a high-quality palette - it's fabulous. It's also really pigmented, so there are no issues there.
I think you know that a product is good when you genuinely enjoy using it. Stila In The Light is a palette that I find a pleasure to use, it's one that I reach for and one that I really enjoy using. I've fallen for it and I don't think I've ever fallen for eyeshadow before.
Have you tried this palette before? What eyeshadow palette would you recommend?
