Blog Goals for January

In all honestly, I don't think I've ever kept a new year resolution. As much as I'd like to, it just never seems to happen. I think the problem is with new year resolutions for me is that they can be way too vague without any thought on how they are going to achieved.

Blog more, improve photography and join in more twitter chats are blog goals I've set myself almost every most year. I want to achieve them all, but I want to set targets as well each month that will make me more motivated to reach them.

Rather than doing yearly blogs goals for 2017, I thought it would be better to set myself monthly ones. So, without further ado, here are my January goals.

1. Reach 1500 twitter followers.

The follow/unfollow game on twitter is a strong one and unfortunately for me, it's making it difficult for me to consistently grow my twitter. I think my problem is that I don't engage enough with other bloggers and generally tweet/promote blog content, which brings me on to my next goal...

2. Join in at least 2 twitter chats a week
Due to finishing work late and other plans, it's been difficult for me to join in many blog chats. However coming into the new year without a job (weep) it'll make things a little easier to join in with chats and get more involved in the community again.

3. Promote my etsy store on twitter at least once a day
Many of you may not know, but I have a little Etsy shop! It's a jewellery shop that I reopened and relaunched in November 2016. It's going okay, with a few sales trickling in a week, but I want to grow it and therefore, I need to promote it more!

Here are a few items from Little Fawn Jewellery if anyone is interested! Prices start from 99p.
 4.  Post on Instagram at least twice a week
I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but Instagram is such a struggle for me. Like most bloggers and the general population will tell you, it's hard to gain followers and as soon as someone does follow you, they'll probably unfollow you by the end of the day. It's a lot of effort for minimum results, therefore it's always in the back of my mind. However, I'm determined to get back into it. I'm starting gently with 2 photos a week, but I might increase this in the time February.

If anyone wants to check it out its, I'll probably follow back!

5. Pin at least 10 pins a day.
Another social media platform that I need to put more effort into. How do people grow this, though, seriously? I want to start getting into a routine and I really want to up my game when it comes to Pinterest, so I'm going to try and pin 10 posts a day in January, wish me luck!

6. Play around with blog backgrounds.
If you look through my past posts, the photography is pretty similar. A fluffy blanket, a candle and fake flowers, that's about as far as my blog props will go. I really want to switch it up, experiment a little and take my blog photography out of my comfort zone.

7. Comment on 20 blogs a week
Again, I'm starting off small. Some days I have more time than others so it's easier to count weekly rather than daily how many blogs I can comment on. I commented on almost every blog I read when I first started blogging but it's more of a rare occurrence now. I want to get back into it as I absolutely love getting comments on my posts, so I want to share the love a little. If I enjoy a post from now on, I'll let the writer know.

What are your goals for January?
