It's not often here on this little blog that I would dedicate an entire post to one beauty product.
However, this time something is different. I have possible found my favourite foundation ever and I couldn't help but write a whole post about this beauty as it's well and truly found a place in my heart.
I've heard amazing things about the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation for years and years and originally, this was the product that I had my eye on to buy.
However, after having a quick chat with the Estee Lauder lady, she recommended Estee Lauders latest release, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick as it was more for everyday wear which was what I was looking for.
What I was really intrigued about when it came to this foundation was the cushion applicator. It was described to me as a similar to a Beauty Blender that helps buff the foundation into the skin. You twist the bottom of the stick and the foundation is pumped up through the sponge, allowing you to use the sponge directly on to the skin
The sponge applicator isn't bad, however, I still prefer using my own foundation brush. I find that the sponge doesn't evenly buff the foundation into the skin and my foundation can look slightly streaky. The applicator isn't quite right and if you pick this up for yourself, I'd recommend finding an alternative way to apply your foundation.
Now I've gotten the one negative out of the way, it's time to talk about why I've rated it are my favourite foundation ever.
The shade 2C0 Cool Vanilla is perfect for my skin tone. I've spoken many times about the struggles of finding a product that closely matches my skin tone. I'm a pale girl with warm undertones and sometimes it's hard to find a shade that isn't slightly too dark. This one is pretty near perfect and I'm more than happy with the look it achieves.
The light-weight formula
This foundation was specifically described as light-weight and that's exactly what it is. It's perfect for everyday wear. Saying that, it's also really buildable and there are many times I've created a heavier look for a night out.
The radiant finish
Another claim this foundation makes is that it gives you a healthy looking glow. This is one of my favourite things about this foundation, the finish. Being pale, I really like a foundation with a radiant, glowing finish that brightens up my skin. It's hydrating and a definite winner in my eyes.
Estee Lauder also claims that the foundation is an 8-hour wear. Personally, as it such a light-weight foundation, I don't think it quite reaches what it claims. However, it's still a long lasting foundation that it perfect for a day at work or a walk around the shops. I honestly have no complaints.
The twist pump
Although I do have my problems with the sponge applicator itself, the one thing that I genuinely really like about the foundation is that you don't use more than you need to. As you twist the tube, the foundation will pump up through the top which helps you control the quantity you wish to apply without the product going to waste.
Have you tried any Estee Lauder foundations before?
