Tucked away in the Northern Quarter, Alabama's All American Eatery is a fairly new addition in Manchester. With it's offering of pancakes, various brunch dishes and lunch options, it's fair to say Alabama's is a welcomed and popular addition. Alabama's aims to bring an authentic American taste and style to little old Manchester and after seeing the menu online, I couldn't wait to pop down for a lazy Sunday morning brunch...
We arrived at around 11 o'clock in the morning, the perfect brunch time, but unbeknown to us everyone else had the same idea (and who can blame them!). The restaurant was extremely busy and we were told there would be a 15 minute wait until a table for 2 would be free.
After a short stroll around the Northern Quarter, we arrived back at Alabama's and got seated straight away! After looking at the menu, it was impossible not to have the chocolate milkshake and I'm so glad I did - it was absolutely delicious! Topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce, this beauty didn't last long and was gone way before our food arrived at our table.
Next up was the main event, brunch. Although I was very tempted by the pancakes, I chose Eggs Florentine with a side of mushrooms in the end, whilst my fiancé went for Two Free Range Eggs Your Way, Streaky Bacon, Homemade Fries and French Toast.
The eggs were cooked to perfection and the hollandaise sauce to accompany them was delicious! Although I didn't have the chance to try my fiancé's, I'm sure it was good as I didn't hear any complaints.
The service was great, everyone was really friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself had a great feel to the place, the style and atmosphere makes it a perfect little addition to the Northern Quarter.
I highly recommend Alabama's to anyone who is looking for a quirky breakfast spot or a quick bite to eat in Manchester, but I'd suggest you book ahead first! There's no doubt about it, I'm going back for the pancakes and maybe another cheeky milkshake!
