There's no doubt that I'm a fan of Beyonce or that she is a strong and powerful individual; this perfume is all about that power...
Released in 2014 the concept behind Beyonce's Perfume Rise is that 'a woman's power comes from within and when a woman connects with her very essence, she revels in her individuality, her strength, and her beauty.' This idea is what inspired this perfume, the scent, the bottle, everything. Which I think it a really inspiring and different concept.
Let's start with the bottle itself, because let's face it, we all like a pretty bottle. Rise comes in a tall, elegant and sleek bottle with the lid resembling a golden crown, which I assume means the Rise of Queen B and her career. The perfume itself is a golden colour which goes nicely with the bottle.
The scent itself is slightly musky, has a woodiness about it, but there is still a sweetness to it as well. The notes are as follows; the top notes are Bergamot, Apricot and Bassil, the middle notes are orchid, blossom and jasmine and finally the base notes which explain the woodiness, Vetiver extract cashmere musk and autumn woods accord.
In all honesty, this isn't the scent I would normally choose. I normally go for the floral and sweet scents, however I love this perfume and I'm so glad that I decided to try something different. It's not overpowering and very light, although I might not wear it in the evening, it is perfect for every day wear. It is a perfect mix, it's musky but when it settles the sweetness comes out more. It's truly a lovely scent and one I will be buying over and over again I'm sure.
