REVIEW | The Bluffer's Guide To Social Media

Do you not know your Bebo from your Facebook? Or maybe you hear the phrases 'hashtag' and 'livetweeting' and think people are speaking in code? Welcome to the world of Social Media, now is the time to get up to speed. Us Bloggers like to think of ourselves as social media savvy, but we still have a lot to learn. The Bluffer's Guide to Social Media is here to help.

The Bluffers Guide to Social Media talks you through everything. Different social media platforms and the different kind of people that use them (hello trolls and oversharers). The book talks about how Social Media can help you, how to become viral and how to make money from it (hello Perez Hitlon), but also the down falls. How Social Media can get you into trouble if you don't play nicely and abide by the law and how big companies campaigns have ended in failure.
In all, it tells you what to post and what not to post, what sites to use and which ones are dead and gone (Bebo anyone?). But through it all, the books remains funny and engaging showing you the highs and lows of Social Media, all backed up by facts and examples to illustrate how social media works. What I like about this book is that it doesn't just show the fun (cute cats) and heart warming side of social media, but also looks at the devastating effects of it also, such as suicide and bullying. It's a fantastic and insightful guide.

The Bluffers Guide to Social Media is a very enjoyable read and a guide that you'll need in your life to become Social Media savvy. The books is available HERE for £6.99.
