Born Pretty | Silky Eye Shadow

I have to admit that it's only been in the last year that I've started wearing and experimenting with eye shadow and it's fair to say now, that I am obsessed. It's worked its way into my (non work day) make up routine. Therefore, when I had the chance to review an item from the Born Pretty store, I went straight to the eye shadow palettes to see what they had to offer.
This palette caught my eye straight away. There are six different palettes available and I went for Number 1, which is available here. The palette caught my eye due to the beautiful shades as well as the shimmer. Although my eye shadow collection has increased over the year, I've always stayed away from shimmer and have gone for matte shades. In the hope of shaking up my routine a little bit and because some sparkle is needed for Christmas, I decided to pick something I wouldn't normally wear and is out of my comfort zone. When the palette arrived, I was hesitant because they looked like they had too much glitter on them for me, however once I had swatched the shades as well as testing them on my eyelids, I found that there was just the right amount I was looking for!

However, although the shimmer may be out of my comfort zone, the colours are not. They are a really nice mix of colours from a white shimmer shade to an almost black, with everything in between. My favourite has got to be the brown shade. It's a perfect everyday colour and even better for the Christmas period. Below are all the colours swatched.
In this photo I have on a small amount of MAC Taupe as well as the brown shade and dark brown/black in the outer corner crease. I found all the shades to be quite pigmented, the darker shades showing up particularly well. I was really happy with this as sometimes it's a worry when buying bargain beauty products, that they lack in quality and therefore, less pigmented. However, I didn't find this at all with this one and was really impressed. The lightest colour, the silver and white are very similar when swatched as you can see as you can't tell them apart, which I found is the only downfall. The other thing I noticed about this is how soft and silky the product is! Due to this, it's really nice to apply to the eyelids as well as making it easy to blend.

Overall, I'm really impressed at this eye shadow from Born Pretty. I love the mix of colours that are available as well as the formula and how nice it is to use. Even better, you can get it for $4.38 as well as free shipping.

I also have a discount code for you to use, SAMMYH10 which will get you 10% off your order.
