Mini MUA Haul

I'll admit it, I have never tried any of the products from MUA before. I'd been looking for a lovely bright blue nail varnish which I have seen popping up on a few blogs recently and as my budget it a bit tight I decided to look for some in the MUA's £1 nail varnish range. As there was 3 for 2 on at the time, I couldn't help myself and got these three items for £2! I picked MUA nail varnishes in 'Bold Blue' and 'Pistachio Ice Cream' and MUA lipstick in 'Juicy'.

First, I'd like to introduce to you 'Bold Blue', which may possibly be my favourite nail varnish ever. I know this is a big statement but here are my reasons why:

1. The colour: For me, the colour is perfect. It was exactly what I was looking for; a lovely sky blue. It's bright and eye-catching and perfect for the summer months. It's called bold blue and that's exactly what it is.
2. The formula: To say I didn't expect a lot from this is an understatement, I didn't expect anything at all. I didn't expect this polish to be anywhere near as good as more expensive brands, however, it's a very good contender! I thought it would chip easily and the finish wouldn't be very good, but I am actually really surprised. I've been wearing this varnish a few days now and it's hardly chipped. It also leaves a lovely finish on the nails.
3. The price: It costs £1. It's an absolute bargain. It's a gorgeous colour with a formula to rival more expensive brands, I can't complain.

Unfortunately, there is only one negative, but one that can be easily overlooked. The colour is quite transparent. I put at least three coats on to get the nails as opaque as they are and because of this, the varnish does take a little longer to dry.

The second of the MUA polishes to try was 'Pistachio Ice Cream'. The name itself enticed me towards picking this one, it's adorable. I've spoken many times before about my love for pastels and this pastel, minty green just made my love grow more. I don't have a colour like this and am really looking forward to giving this a go. If the formula is the same and the colour just as beautiful, I don't see how it can go wrong!

I was unsure what to get as my final item in the 3 for 2 offer but, I finally decided on trying a lipstick. It's a very pigmented peachy pink colour with a hint of coral running through and is shade 15 called 'Juicy'. It applies beautifully which is all down to the creamy and moisturising formula. This texture is so smooth and feels lovely on the lips. In terms of longevity I was pleasantly surprised once again, although it doesn't last as long as more expensive lipsticks I found it lasts at least three hours before it starts to wear off.

My first experience with MUA products turned out to be quite a success! I'll definitely be popping back to try out some other nail varnishes and maybe I'll take a peek at what other products they have to offer! If you're looking for budget friendly products to rival other high street brands then I can't recommend them enough.
Have you tried MUA products before? What do you think of them?
